Will I receive an acknowledgement from the advertiser?

Answer

  2. On hold

Question

Can I write down job-code no. of any given job-alert on a piece of paper and then enter it into my mobile-screen next day and “apply online” by clicking “Send”?

Yes, you can do that.

However, to be on the safe side, remember to delete that SMS from memory once you have applied, to avoid applying for the same job twice.

You need to send the following SMS from your mobile:

JAM <Job Code> on the shortcode fixed by your Service Provider

Question

We are working on this feature.

Page No.: SP-5

6. Number of Job Alerts Per Day

Question

How many job-alerts can I get every day during the regular subscription period?

Answer

It is up to you to decide how many job-alerts you wish to receive every day.

You can specify this number (maximum limit) while registering on World-Wide-Jobs.com.

We ensure that, on any given day, the number of job-alerts sent to you does not exceed your specified limit.

However, on some days, the actual number of alerts delivered may be less than your maximum limit.

This happens when the Matchmaker software cannot find enough “Good/Relevant” jobs matching your Job Preferences.

Page No.: SP-6

7. Service Across Mobile Providers

Question

Does JAM Service remain the same, irrespective of the mobile service provider?

Answer

Yes, it remains the same.

It makes no difference which mobile service provider you use.

However, each mobile service provider may have its own unique:

  • Shortcode (for JAM service)
  • Service Tariff

Page No.: SP-7

8. Forwarding Job Alerts

Question

Can I redirect/forward any particular job-alert to a friend?
How can I do this?
Can I forward such an alert to any mobile phone number of any service provider?
Will this cost me anything?

Answer

A JAM job alert is simply an SMS.

Like any other SMS (e.g., a joke), you can forward it to any friend who owns a mobile phone.

It does not matter which service provider you or your friend uses.

Just enter your friend’s mobile number and click “SEND” — as simple as that.

However, you will be charged the standard SMS cost by your service provider for forwarding the message.

12. Job Aggregation Sources & Frequency

Question

From how many job-sites are you aggregating/downloading job-adverts?
How often do you download?

Answer

The list of job-sites from which World-Wide-Jobs (WWJ) downloads job-adverts is available on the homepage.

Job advertisements are downloaded every day.

WWJ downloads only those job-adverts that have been posted within the last 24 hours.

This means:

  • If no new job has been posted on a particular job-site in the past 24 hours,
  • Then there will be no downloading from that site for that day.

13. Content of Job Alert SMS

When I receive a job-alert on my mobile, what information will it contain?

Answer

Each job-alert is a 160-character SMS and contains the following information (depending on availability in the original job advertisement):

  • Employer’s Name
  • Posting City
  • Vacancy Title
  • Educational Qualifications (desired)
  • Age (Maximum)
  • Experience (Minimum)
